Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to the Jurnal Inovasi Pembelajaran Kimia (Journal of Innovation in Chemistry Education) must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The manuscript must be written in English and prepared using the official journal template. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines will be returned to the authors for revision prior to review.

The manuscript length must not exceed 15 pages, formatted in two columns, using A4 paper size with 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

Font specifications:

  • Main text: Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing
  • Abstract: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing
  • Title: Times New Roman, 15 pt, bold, centered
  • Figure and Table captions: Times New Roman, 10 pt

 

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must be arranged in the following order:

a. Title

The title must be concise, informative, and not exceed 15 words, written in Sentence Case, bold, and centered.

b. Author(s) Information

Include:

  • Full name(s) of author(s)
  • Department and Institution
  • City and Country
  • Corresponding author email (marked with an asterisk *)

c. Abstract

The abstract must:

  • Be written in English
  • Contain 150–200 words
  • Include: background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion
  • Not include citations

d. Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords, separated by semicolons (;).

 

3. Introduction

The introduction must include:

  • General background
  • State of the Art
  • Gap analysis
  • Novelty and contribution of the research
  • Clear research objectives

Authors are encouraged to use recent references (preferably within the last 10 years).

 

4. Literature Review

  • Use up-to-date references (within 10 years).
  • At least 80% of references should be primary sources (journal articles).
  • Indicate ISSN for each cited journal.
  • All in-text citations must follow APA style:
    • One author: (Washburn, 2011)
    • Two authors: (Wang & Voss, 2018)
    • Three or more authors: (Situmorang et al., 2018)

Reference management software such as Mendeley is strongly recommended.

 

5. Methods

Clearly describe:

  • Research design
  • Participants or subjects
  • Instruments
  • Procedures
  • Data analysis techniques

Use subheadings when necessary. Any patented method must be properly cited.

Mathematical equations should be centered and numbered sequentially: A + B = 1

 

6. Results and Discussion

This section must explain:

  1. What/How — data analysis and findings
  2. Why — theoretical interpretation and relation to hypothesis
  3. Comparison — alignment or contradiction with previous studies

Tables and figures must:

  • Be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.)
  • Include clear captions (10 pt font)
  • Be referred to in the text

Discussion must relate findings to relevant literature.

 

7. Conclusion

The conclusion should:

  • Summarize major findings
  • Highlight scientific contributions
  • Explain implications for science and technology development

This section should not be numbered.

 

8. Acknowledgement

Authors may acknowledge funding agencies, institutions, or individuals who contributed to the research.

 

9. References

  • Authors must cite at least 40 references.
  • All cited works must appear in the reference list.
  • References must follow APA Style (American Psychological Association).
  • Similarity index must not exceed the journal’s policy limit and should be submitted as a supplementary file when required.

Authors are encouraged to cite at least five (5) articles previously published Jurnal Inovasi Pembelajaran Kimia (Journal of Innovation in Chemistry Education) to strengthen scholarly integration and citation impact.
