Abstract

This research analyzes the use of phrases and SPOK (Subject, Predicate, Object, Information) in mass media in a syntactic context. The aim is to understand patterns and norms of language use in mass media writing. This study uses the theory of generative syntax by Noam Chomsky as a theoretical basis and content analysis method to analyze articles from various mass media. Theoretical studies include generative syntax theory, content analysis, mass communication theory, and applied linguistics. The results of the analysis show that the use of phrases and SPOK in mass media has an important role in forming effective sentence structures and influencing the way messages are conveyed to readers. This research provides in-depth insight into the use of phrases and SPOK in mass media contexts, as well as their contribution to the overall sentence structure. These findings can be used to improve the quality of writing and communication in mass media, as well as provide a better understanding of language use in journalistic contexts. Further research is recommended to explore other aspects of language use in mass media.
