Abstract

Education must give pupils 21st-century skills including critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and creativity as the globalization era advances. One method of instruction that is believed to be able to satisfy these requirements is project-based learning, or PjBL. This strategy fosters student engagement and the thorough development of their competencies by highlighting the learning process through real-world projects that are relevant to students' everyday lives. At the elementary school (SD) level, PjBL holds great potential for fostering children's character and critical thinking skills. However, there are some problems with its use in the field that need to be carefully thought through. This article aims to assess the effectiveness of PjBL in assisting primary school students in acquiring 21st-century skills and identify the factors that support and undermine its implementation. The results of the study are expected to be used by educators and policymakers to guide the development of more modern and pertinent teaching strategies.
