Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics learning module based on local wisdom, specifically on measurement material, to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The methods used include a literature review and analysis of local cultural content relevant to mathematical concepts, as well as in-depth interviews with teachers. The results of the study indicate that mathematics learning that integrates local cultural values ​​through contextual learning modules can significantly improve students' conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and critical thinking skills. The developed module is also able to connect mathematical concepts with students' real-life experiences, so that learning becomes more meaningful and interesting. This research provides an important contribution to the development of creative learning resources that are appropriate to cultural characteristics and support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools.
