Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Raden Ajeng Kartini in the struggle for educational equality for women in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach and literature review method, this research focuses on analyzing Kartini’s writings, especially her famous letters, as well as other relevant works.In the early 20th century, Kartini was a key figure advocating for women’s right to education and opposing gender discrimination. From the analysis of her writings, it is evident that Kartini’s views on women’s education went beyond formal and intellectual education to include character and personality development.The findings show that Kartini’s initiatives in supporting women’s education have had a significant impact on the progress of female education in Indonesia, which is still felt today. Kartini inspired future generations of women to pursue education and contribute in various fields of knowledge.This study also emphasizes the importance of continuing Kartini’s struggle to realize broader equality for women in both education and social spheres. Kartini’s role as a pioneer of women’s emancipation has paved the way for educational equality for women in Indonesia.
