This study aims to examine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach on improving the writing skills of elementary school students. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review by analyzing various relevant literature sources. The results of the study showed that the contextual approach was able to create a meaningful learning process by linking the subject matter with students' real experiences. This approach not only improves students' understanding, but also encourages active involvement, creativity, and the ability to express ideas through writing. Therefore, CTL is highly recommended to be applied in learning writing in elementary schools.Downloads
