ANALISIS SISWA KESULITAN DALAM MATERI PECAHAN MATEMATIKA DI SEKOLAH DASAR

This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties experienced by elementary school students in understanding fraction material in mathematics, particularly in the aspect of comparing fractions. The research method used is a literature study by collecting and analyzing secondary data from various sources such as books, journals, and related research articles. The results indicate that students struggle to distinguish numerators and denominators, compare fraction values, and understand mathematical symbols such as “greater than” (>) and “less than” (<). Additionally, many students make mistakes in fraction operations, especially with different denominators, and have difficulty solving word problems that require conceptual understanding and translating problem statements into mathematical form. The main factors contributing to these difficulties include low interest and attitude towards mathematics, limited use of concrete media by teachers, and an unsupportive learning environment. The study recommends the use of concrete learning media, enjoyable contextual approaches, and adapting teaching strategies to student characteristics as solutions to improve understanding of fractions in elementary schools.References
